Seoul Day Two
Got up, had coffee at de chocolate coffee again and then headed off to find the vegetarian restaurant. Followed the directions but got VERY lost. We are very lucky that Koreans are so friendly and helpful. Two coppers were trying to help us and then a stranger asked us if we needed help and he went out of his way to walk us in the right direction! Lovely people.
We found the restaurant called Hanguachae - it serves temple food. So was all Vegan. It was a buffet for 10,000 Won which in my opinion is very cheap. I enjoyed the food a lot. THe restaurant is in an area called Insa-dong which is a market - so lots of souvenirs that we will look at again tomorrow.
THe weather here is crazy - So humid and rain one minute sunshine the next. These two girls gave us two fans for answering their questionaire about what we thought about Seoul and Korea (it was to improve their English. So cute!
After lunch we went to Unhywongung palace.
Going to meet Juno we got caught in the rain. Found shelter in the coffee shop across the street.
We then met up with Juno and a girl called Marie who Juno had randomly met on the subway. We headed to the National palace museum.
Was a great museum. Lots of history. Then walked a LONG way to the folk museum which was better than the first in my opinion. Showed us how the normal Korean people lived all through history, Very cool!
Had a lovely time with the girls. Both were super nice :)
This pic above is the blue house (where the president lives).
After the museums we went back to Insa Dong - went to a place famous for their dumplings....
This guy was funny - he made these sweets... pretty tasty.
Then went to a tea house.
It was great meeting the girls! They were so friendly and fun to hang with :)
