Today its Grandads funeral. Im in Australia and the funeral is in england. :( it won't be til 11.45pm my time. by that time il probably be in bed with a belly full of wine. Thats what Paul and I are going to do to say goodbye. Raise a toast to Grandad. He liked his drink bless him. If i could stomach liqeuor (spelling?) i'd have one of those but wine will have to do.
I sent my aunty something to read out for us.
Paul and I wish we could be there with you all to say goodbye to Granddad but as we can’t we are with you in spirit. We shall be opening a bottle of wine and raising a toast today.
I have so many special memories of Granddad, of our holidays in Cyprus. Going to lovely restaurants and sitting in his garden with the gorgeous view, going to Curium beach almost every day and having lunch at Chris Blue Beach. I’m so glad Paul and I got to go and visit Granddad and add more lovely memories to the pile. I’ll never forget his sense of humour. So dry and never quite sure if he’s joking or not! I loved that about him. I will miss his love of food and wine and his banter with waiters and flirting with waitresses.
The last phone call I had with him he sounded really settled and happy which is a lovely way to remember him. So Paul and I raise a toast to you Granddad, we’ll see you again one day. We all miss you and love you very much.
